Mission Accomplished

About two months ago Allan and I started talking about wanting to get back into decent shape (again) and we decided that we needed a goal and so Operation Couch to 5K. We attempted working out a few times a week, sometimes we were successful, sometimes we didn't get moving as often as we had hoped. We looked online at Runon.com and found local 5K races for the month of March and decided to run Race For Wishes which benefits the Make a Wish Foundation.

We got to the race, checked in, pinned on our numbers, stretched, and headed to the starting line with about 1000 other people. It is safe to say that Allan and I were both a little nervous about what to expect and then a shot was fired and the crowd began to move. We started jogging and didn't stop for 3.11 miles...that is right, I RAN the ENTIRE race without resting. It was a huge accomplishment for me. I felt really proud of myself for the first time in a long time. It was not the fastest time ever and honestly some of the time my run was slower than a speed walker may go, but it was still a run.

I LOVED my first 5K, even though I thought I may pass out at the end. I am encouraged to continue working out and really looking forward to our next run at the beginning of May where my goal is to improve my time by three minutes and run the entire way again. The other great thing about this whole experience was accomplishing a goal with my very supportive husband and I can't wait to run with him again. Thank you Sweet Man for staying by my side, I LOVE you so much!!

Why I Haven't Blogged Much

I miss blogging! I miss documenting my life and the life of my kids on a regular basis. A few people have commented on my lack of blogging and here is the deal...
Every time I try to upload pictures to a post my internet crashes. The only way I can upload pictures is through Picasa and in order to get more than two shots I have to do a collage. I love a good collage, but I am tired of that being the only pictures I post. In other words I am frustrated with the whole thing and when that happens I usually just shut down. I personally don't like to post without pictures and since it is such a hassle I just don't do it.
If any of you are still reading and have some hint to help me out I am all ears. I have a lot of fun things to share! Sorry this is such a "dry season" on here.

38 Weeks

It took 38 weeks to go from the word "pregnant" on a stick to looking like I had swallowed a really big watermellon.

It took another 38 weeks to go from this beautiful little squishy baby to my sweet beautiful (almost) 9 month old.

I love you sweet Jacob! I love watching you grow. I cannot believe what a difference just 38 weeks can make in your precious life.
