What a week, I have been sick as a dog (I never understood that saying, I mean are dogs really sick all that often?). In the middle of fighting off the world's worst cold I was blessed over and over by my sweet husband. He has gone on medicine runs, rubbed my back, he even came home from work early yesterday with my favorite potato soup from Saltgrass and then let me sleep all afternoon while he watched Claire. He is really thoughtful when it counts. Thank you babe!!
We are flying out to California this afternoon to spend a few days with Allan's family. Claire is excited to play with her cousins. We haven't seen everyone since our family vacation in August, so this will be really nice to get some time with. Allan and I are also very excited to meet Miss Bailey our good friend's new baby girl. I just love cuddling tiny squishy babies.

A Photo Update
I just did a big photo upload and thought I would do one big photo update instead of a lot of little ones.
Life has been good and busy this last week. We spent some time in Waco celebrating an early Thanksgiving, a few birthdays, watching the Bears beat the Aggies, and seeing some of our close friends. It was super fun and busy.
Let's see what other news? I have been feeling not so great with this pregnancy, but I am almost finished with the first trimester so there is hope. Claire continues to fall more in love with this baby everyday, it is so fun to watch!
The highlight of this last week was going to watch Twilight on opening night with a group of Twilight Mom friends and Allan. It was so fun and so good. I love that we saw it on opening night with all the super excited teenagers that squealed the whole time. I have never experienced anything like it, stinkin' hilarious.
So onto the pictures...
*Claire chose this very cute outfit to go shopping in the other day. At first I thought this is so not practical and then the dreams I once had of taking my baby girl shopping in her dress up clothes came rushing back and I embraced the cuteness. I seriously love this kid more than anything in the world, she makes me so happy!

*In my last post I talked about my friend Sarah moving out of state and how much I am going to miss raising our daughters together. Here is a picture of our little girls that were born four months apart their last time to see each other before the big move. They are too cute and I loved that their friendship was beginning to blossom. We will miss you sweet Caroline!
*While we were in Waco we had Asher's second birthday party and all the cousins dressed up. It was a fun little party.
Claire and Asher loved harassing the fish the entire week we were at Poppie and Gibbie's. It got to the point that the fish would actually hide when they came near. I don't think they will ever be the same.
I think that this is one of the funniest pictures ever. I love how happy Claire looks and how annoyed Asher looks. It is the perfect depiction of the differences in boys and girls.

It is the perfect depiction of the differences in boys and girls.*I have told you all many times how much Claire loves babies and her cousin Ainsley Grace is no exception. Thankfully Sara is one laid back mommy and let's Claire indulge her passion as long as Ains' can handle it. Here are a few of the memories these two girls made this last week.

*Claire loves all things girly and I love that trait. One thing she is always asking for is nail polish. A couple of days ago Allan was a real sport and let his little princess paint his fingernails and toenails a nice clear glitter color. It was pretty funny when I looked over during our small group at church a few hours later and saw his nails sparkling. I think he spent the rest of the class picking off Claire's artwork.

*Claire has just recently wanted to pose for pictures. She will say "take a picture of me" and after the click she changes her pose and says "take another one mom". I love it!!

A few other funny things that have come out of Claire's mouth recently
**"My beautiful sandwich! It's broken!!!"- this was after she fell on top of her freshly made sandwich
**"How ya doing big guy"- talking to her cousin Asher
**"How about I take off my/your sockypoozies?"- anytime she wants to take socks off of herself or others
**"I have a stomach egg"- when she has a stomach ache
There were so many other things that she said while we were at my parents that had us all laughing and I even said I should write them down so I wouldn't forget, alas I did not therefore I forgot. Mom, Dad, or Sara if you can think of them let me know.

Blogger's Block
It was brought to my attention that for one of the first times since beginning this blog I have really been a slacker. It is not that there is nothing fun happening in our lives, it is just that nothing seems worthy of an entire blog entry or I forget what I was going to blog about by the end of the day because I am living in a bit of a fog with this bambino wreaking havoc on my body. So here are a few tidbits from life over the last week and a half...

* My friend Sarah has officially moved and that made me sad. I am going to miss her something fierce. I will be going to visit her in January hopefully which makes me really happy, I can't wait to see her new place and help her get settled a little more if she hasn't already.

* The other outing I am so excited about is the opening night of Twilight with a whole lot of ladies, and Allan. We have bought our tickets already and I can't wait to see it! My sister, Amy and I have read all the books and can hardly wait.

*Claire is still as hilarious as ever. Here are a few of my favorite things she is saying. "Hey mom, wait up"; "let's hula! (then she starts singing) Luna ali luna"; "pull up your shirt so I can say good morning baby" then she starts kissing the baby and asking about his/her dreams.
There are tons of other funny things that she says and does everyday, but I am drawing a blank at the moment.
*Speaking of dreams, every morning we have this conversation, seriously every morning without fail:
Me: Did you have sweet dreams?
Claire: Yeah there were horses and little puppies and puppies and big puppies on the sidewalk. They woke up.
M: What color were they?
C: Um, brown and pink
M: What were their names?
C: Um, pink. I want to go on a bike ride. Let's go downstairs. I want to ride your piggy back.

*So far this pregnancy has been totally different than my pregnancy with Claire. I have been twice as tired and nauseous every afternoon and evening. I am already becoming more thankful for my husband. He is a helper around the house and with Claire and I think he has been keeping me sane. I am blessed beyond belief by him every single day. I do not know what I would do without him.

* I am fixing to have a super fun and busy family extended weekend. We are going to Waco to celebrate some birthdays (Dad, Jeremy, Allie, and Asher), go to the Baylor v. A&M game, and celebrating Thanksgiving with my side of the family. Then Sara and I are staying in Waco a few extra days to just hang out and see friends. We even have gotten two half days of babysitting set up so we can get some time away from the two year olds.
*Allan sold his boat and will be leaving our garage tonight. You have no idea how happy this makes me! He will be parking his car in the garage with me for the first time in our married life.

Nap Time Runaway
Yesterday when I told Claire it was time to go upstairs for naptime she threw me a curveball. I am geting used to her excuses of "it's not dark", "no nap mommy, I not tired", etc. This time she decided to make a run for it. She crawled under the table and pulled in all the chairs and said "I hiding mommy, no nap". I fought back the laughter, took a picture of course, crawled under the table and drug her out, wrestled her all the way up the stairs, rocked her, cuddled her, and finally left her screaming in the bed. She spent an hour in the room talking, singing, and whining off and on. It was pretty obvious that naptime was a no go so she won the battle and came back downstairs. You just gotta love her though...nap or no nap!
What's That?
I just had realized that I never blogged about our first sonogram (poor second child). We went to the doctor on Thursday and were so happy to see one little heartbeat thumping along really strong. I was exactly seven weeks and all looks well with me and Kav Kid #2. I am definitely feeling a little more pregnant these days. The queasiness usually sets in around 4 pm everyday and I am lacking in the energy department. This growing baby stuff is tough work. According to my weekly updates this kid is the size of a blueberry and looking less and less like a lizard everyday. It has partial eyelids, webbed fingers and toes, a nub for a nose, and ear buds. I am seriously in awe of how this whole process works. Who could ever say that there is no God? I will try to update when exciting things happen along the way. Claire is still in love with the baby and I am growing more and more attached to it everyday. I was just telling Allan that seeing this little ones heartbeat has made me so much more protective of this life inside me. Some of you might think it is a little weird, but even though I am super excited about having another baby, it takes me a little while to feel totally connected. I was that way with Claire too.
We will be getting to see a lot of this bambino along the way. The doctor is wanting to keep an eye on its growth so starting at 18 weeks I will be having at least one sonogram a month. I think that will be super fun. I love getting to see my baby!
