He Hit The Big 3-0

My husband is 30 years old! We celebrated him all week long and it was fun. He received thirty gifts throughout the week. Claire could hardly wait for her daddy to get home every day from work so they could pick out gifts to open (she was a really good helper). Allan is a really practical person, he has never been a big fan of the sentimental, foofy gifts, so his gifts were an assortment of fun, simple, and practical things that he likes:
*Manly Gift Certificates (trips to the shotgun range, a round of golf, fishing outings) *Family Fun Certificates (miniature golf, bowling, ice cream outing, picnic at the airplane park) * Gift Cards (movies, Best Buy, iTunes, Bass Pro) *Cheetos *Rubbermaid with the lids that stick to the bowls so we don't have to search for them every time *Games (The Office [mot a great game FYI], Mad Gab) *Game Night with some friends and family *Cuticle Cutters *Promised Land Chocolate Milk *Movies (Gran Torino, The Office Season 4, Veggie Tales [Claire picked this one]) *Brownies *Favorite Wine *Framed picture of the kiddos *Red Vines *3 Pack of good gum *New Undershirts

Allan received some presents in the mail from his parents and my parents that were really special too. His mom sent him a cookie cake, a basket of yummy snacks, and a delicious fruit arrangement which we all loved snacking on. My parents sent him a book about fishing and some loot for his gun fund. He is saving up for a Bass Pro shopping spree in their firearms department.

The 29th is Allan's actual birthday and we had such a fun day! I actually made breakfast (super rare) and we put candles in his muffin. We had a low key morning before heading out to the local mini golf course and arcade. This turned out to be a super fun family birthday outing for all of us. Claire actually caught on to the idea of hitting the ball into the hole and loved picking up our balls after we hit them. Jacob slept pretty much the whole time which was nice. Allan and Claire took a ride on the go-kart track which was so cute, then we headed inside to the arcade where Allan got his yearly dose of Galaga (which he is a stud at by the way...is that something to be proud of?) and Claire became obsessed with Big Buck Safari a game that consists of holding a big rifle and shooting wildabeasts. We finished our family time out with lunch at Raising Cane's and then the kids and I napped while Allan did a little birthday fishing. I just love our family outings, they are my favorite things ever at this point in my life!

Last night was the grand finale of Allan's 30th birthday in Texas (we will celebrate again next weekend in CA). We met a few of his friends at The Melting Pot. It was such a fun time to just hang out over a VERY LONG meal (3.5 hours to be exact) without any kids in tow. My sister, Amy, gave Allan the best gift of all by babysitting both Claire and Jacob so we could have a little adult outing and totally focus on celebrating my favorite 30 year old in the world. I think it is safe to say that Allan felt very special over his birthday week...mission accomplished.

What a fantastic week! Great gifts and outings. If that snack basket suddenly goes missing, don't look my way. :)

Happy 30th Allan!

You know Em.... I'm just thinkin' there will be a bunch of husbands who are about to be blessed in many creative and abundant ways because of your Happy-30th-Birthday-Allan blog entry. I think I'm up for the challenge my own self. So so so fun! Loved every single idea you put into place to bless your hubby. BTW... I too LOVED the pic of Allan and his little son at the putt-putt place as well. So sweet.
