Day of the Fourth

I have so many pictures from our recent trip to California I am going to have to post in a few installments. We had such a great time with Allan's parents. We got in on Thursday night and ate at Allan's favorite Sushi/Hibachi place- Sayaka. Claire did great and loved the "silly guy" that cooked for us and made volcanos out of onions. Claire got to open her Fourth of July gifts from Mimi and Papa. We had a few friends stop by through out the day, cooked out, and jumped in the pool. Claire took a great nap and then we headed to the country club for face painting, bounce houses, BBQ, and fireworks (more on all of that in the next post).
Playing in the pool with Papa was a highlight of the trip for Claire. They both even took turns jumping off the diving board. Claire taught Papa how to do monkey hands around the edge of the pool.Papa tickled Claire's toes which she thought was hilarious. She was very proud of him when he would hold his breath for a long time and swim from one end of the pool to the other.Taking a popsicle break in the pool was a treat that Claire wished she could have done over and over during our trip.Pap likes to sing and he serenaded Claire with one of our favorite Hawaiian songs after lunch. Claire was intrigued with his intense version of What Would They Do If The gods Came Back? (it was stinkin' funny to hear him sing in hawaiian language)One of our favorite babies, Madyson, stopped by to see us. Claire was in heaven hanging out with her. She even let Mady pull her hair and lick, I mean kiss her without any retailiation.
