We had such a nice time spending the evening at the Redlands Country Club. Claire finally got used to the clowns that were doing face painting and balloon art. She didn't however get used to the front row view of the fireworks. She had to find her happy place. There were no tears but her eyes we tightly shut, Mimi covered her ears, she tucked her head between her knees, and fell asleep (it was sad, but funny).

Claire wasn't really big enough to do the games the DJ played with the other kids so we played our own version of the hula-hoop game. Gig and I turned the hoop and Claire squealed and ran in circles inside it.
Claire's beautiful flower and ladybug. She picked the colors and was so proud of her little masterpiece.
Mimi and Claire joined a few ladies in a dance. I love how engaged Gig is with her grandkids. She is always willing to do whatever it takes to make the girls feel special and have fun.
Claire and Allan sporting their glowing jewelry while we waited for the fireworks show to begin.
We knew we were really close to the fireworks when I got pelted by a piece of the first explosion. It was just a hard piece of cardboard that thankfully was not hot. Maybe next time Papa will pick seats a little further back.
Claire trying to find peace in the midst of the chaos of explosions.
We had such a special Fourth of July. Thank you Allan and Gig for making this such a great holiday for us. Claire LOVED spending it with you and so did we!!!

That looked like a lot of fun! Love Claire's dress.
OK, I think you should have a tradition of spending the 4th in California every year! They really know how to celebrate! It seems like Claire was in heaven!
That's some kind of front-row show! I can't believe you got pelted by some debris!
